4 Pillars of True Happiness

Who doesn’t want to be happy? Here we are going to discuss some of the fundamental pillars of true happiness that you will want to try and get for yourself if you want to live a full and happy life.

Alone Time

Alone time is important. What do you like to do as your ‘me’ time throughout the week? Do you have any special rituals you do every year for yourself? Whether you’re enjoying a bath, getting outside, or meditating, finding something that you love to do solo can help you feel calmer and happier.

Time with Loved Ones

Relationships are essential to happiness. Whether you’re spending quality time with a partner, spouse, friend, colleague, family member or other special person in your life, these relationships are key.

Bonding with loved ones can look different depending on the people you’re spending time with… maybe you like to go mini golfing, take a spa day, relax at home, find a fun flick on a list of country-themed movies, go for a hike, or eat a meal together. The options are endless.

Meaningful Work

Having a career, volunteer work, or other purposeful project is also a vital part of being happy in your life. What communities are you a part of? What lights you up? What makes you feel most connected, alive, and creative? Give yourself permission to try different things and see where your purposeful work takes you.

Positive Self-Regard and Self-Esteem

Overall, the way that you view yourself is hugely relevant to how happy you are likely to feel in your daily life. The more positive your self-regard is, the more likely it is that you are going to feel happy in general. How can you boost your self esteem? You might work with a therapist, journal, talk to a friend or loved one, or identify what some of your self-doubting beliefs are, if any.

Hope these ideas help you feel more happiness in your own life. What other steps do you take that help you boost your happiness? I’d love to hear in the comments below!
