Creating Confidence, My New Book

Last week, I launched my 7th independently published book. 😍 It's called CREATING CONFIDENCE: A Practical Guide for Aspiring Yoga Teachers.

I am so happy with the launch results (!!!) and can't resist sharing them with you:

🚀 Within 48 hours, the e-book went bestseller in the U.S. and Australia in all three categories. (In Australia, it even hit #1 for ALL three 😨)

🚀 The paperback broke into the top 75 yoga books in the U.S., which is a super competitive category. To even be sitting alongside some of the powerhouse authors whose books I read during my yoga teacher training is a dream come true.

🚀 And! The book was a #1 New Release in the YOGA category!

That last milestone made me cry 🥹 It made me realize just how far I've come in my own confidence journey as a yoga teacher and an author.

Back when I first started self-publishing books, I did quiet launches and saw them as a learning experiment. I mentioned my projects to a few people but mostly avoided the spotlight because it made me nervous. 😶‍🌫️

With this book, I've been shouting from the rooftops on my blog and social media about it, telling everyone I know, and letting the launch momentum ride. 🎉🥳 I'm also doing a podcast interview soon and a live video stream on Friday in my book launch group. 🎙 Even though sometimes it feels uncomfortable, I'm putting myself out there and letting myself be vulnerable.

This willingness to step up and be seen is something I'm really proud of. Even more proud of than the bestseller launch status. 🥰

I think it's important that we writers and artists get behind our work instead of apologizing for promoting ourselves. I'm passionate about this and can't wait to help more first-time authors stand in the spotlight and GO FOR IT when launch week arrives 😍🥳

With that in mind, here are 3 ways you can support my book, if you are so inspired:

1) Buy a copy.

2) Leave an honest review.

3) Tell a friend about the book, especially if they're a yoga teacher or teacher trainer. Or gift them a copy of the book!

Taking these actions makes a huge difference for an independent author like me. 😍 Thank you! Thank you to everyone who has made this possible and I can't wait to see where this book takes me. 😊💛📚

With love,

Rachel

PS Want to hear more about the book and my self-publishing journey? Listen to my interview on the Yoga for First Responders podcast. I had so much fun chatting with YFFR founder Olivia Mead and president Eric Brenneman about the journey of building confidence as a yoga teacher and in life. The conversation is filled with personal anecdotes, insights, and shared experiences that highlight the power of vulnerability in finding confidence.

I share about my journey of moving to Utah, following my intuition, and embracing new opportunities. I also talk about my book and how it focuses on navigating the early stages of teaching yoga, addressing imposter syndrome, and finding balance in teaching commitments.
