Are you feeling stuck in your teaching?

Whether you just graduated from a yoga teacher training program, or you have been teaching for a while, it’s easy to get stuck or lose inspiration.

Here are 3 simple ways you can show up to teach feeling more confident and excited about your classes.

3 Ways to Improve Your Power Vinyasa Yoga Classes

  1. Find a balance between creating a plan and surrendering your desire to control the outcome. Some of your greatest classes will evolve out of something spontaneous that happens in class. It could be a student who needs a modification, so you slow down and do a workshop-style section of class on a peak pose. Or it could be realizing that the group you’re teaching is more advanced than you expected, so you offer an inversion or arm balance that you’re confident about. While it’s great to show up with a plan, sometimes you also need to be able to completely let go of the plan and allow the class to unfold organically in the moment, based on what your students need.

  2. Teach from the heart and from where you are in this moment. What are you struggling with right now? What can you speak authentically about in class? Be honest with your students. Chances are, they can relate.

  3. Focus on your self care. Are you feeling burned out? Spread thin? Are there too many things on your schedule and not enough down time? Overwhelm makes it difficult to hold space or teach yoga. Make it a priority to fill your cup, and you’ll show up feeling refreshed and ready to share with your students.

I felt so stuck. This book helped me build my confidence and doing some memorization so I wasn’t always so terrified to teach.” -Beth, power vinyasa teacher
