How’s your self care routine looking these days? ;)

With the holidays upon us, this is a great time to re-commit to the things that help you feel centered and grounded.

Healthy choices don’t have to feel like a chore. Find a few from this list that you can easily incorporate into your day, and then feel proud of yourself for taking care of you. You deserve it!

4 Health Hacks to Make You Fall in Love With Being You Again

Incorporate mindful movement into your day.

Take the stairs. Park a little farther away from the store so you can get a brief walk. Play one song and have a 3-minute dance party in your kitchen at the end of your work day! When you feel like your body is in great shape, it gives you a confidence boost. You might also consider signing up at a local gym, joining a cycle or running team, or hiring a personal trainer.

Do a grounding yoga practice.

Seated meditation, supine poses (laying on your back) and poses focused on hips and legs are all great for helping you ground your energy so you feel stable and centered. When you feel peaceful, you’re more able to be the best version of yourself and take care of yourself.

If you’re feeling restless or having trouble sleeping, consider legs up the wall pose, alternate nostril breathing, or a yoga nidra practice.

Consider your mental health.

How are you feeling these days? It’s important to make time to check in with your emotions and thoughts. A regular journaling practice, time spent with loved ones, and working with a counselor or therapist can help improve your mental well-being. If you experience depression, anxiety, or any other mental health concerns, don’t be afraid to ask for help. You are supported and loved, no matter how dark the days may feel.

Simplify. Do one small thing.

Sometimes the small things make the biggest difference. 10 minutes of meditation. A lunch break outside in the sun. A warm cup of tea. A big hug. An extra half hour of sleep. Time without screens. A healthy balanced meal. Consider whether you need to make some lifestyle changes so that you feel balanced. If you’re in a funk, acknowledge that and be willing to make some changes. If you are unhappy in a relationship, work environment, or state of health, know that you can make a change. Take it one small step at a time and before you know it, you will have made incremental shifts toward your goals.
