Grounding Mantras for the Recovering Perfectionist

Perfectionism can cause anxiety. If you’re the type that tends to ‘hold it all together’ all the time, these words are for you!

Grounding Mantras for the Recovering Perfectionist

  • I release the shame and blame of needing to be perfect.

  • I’m willing to take risks so that I can grow and learn.

  • I am open to learning from my mistakes.

  • I release expectations.

  • I release my old pattern of having unreasonably high standards and unrealistic expectations.

  • I will stop comparing myself to others.

  • I no longer believe that anything short of perfect is negative.

  • I am embracing the process.

  • I am focused on self-compassion, being kind to myself, giving myself grace.

  • I value the lessons I’ve learned from failure.

  • I will persist and persevere in doing hard things.

  • I release my old pattern of all or nothing thinking.

  • I love trying new things.

  • I will be patient and loving toward myself, like I would toward a baby learning to walk.

  • I really have been hard on myself and I’m ready to let that go.

  • I accept that my life is different now than it used to be.

  • I choose to be realistic with myself.

  • I’m breaking down hard goals into small steps.

  • I release my anxiety about choosing small steps over big ones.

  • I love and accept myself unconditionally.
