Carrying On (If You Can, You Must)

Today was rough.

I'm processing through a lot of change these days, both personally and professionally, and occasionally the weight of it all will hit me like a ton of bricks.

Can I handle this? Will I make it through?

Am I doing enough?

The questions run through my head at high speed.

Fortunately I have yoga to turn to. I can come to class, exhausted or angry, and lay it all at the mat. I can let go of past hurt, little by little. Today I did this in pigeon pose.

As the teacher pressed into my hips, I could feel a release in my muscles that translated to a little less heaviness in my heart.

I have so much to be grateful for, even on the hard days.

I have beautiful friends who make dinner for me, who laugh and cry with me. On the phone today, my twin sister handed me over to my nephew and I was so grateful for his voice. "I love you, Auntie," he kept saying.

And then this afternoon a follower on Facebook wrote, "You're AWESOME!" in response to my badass yogi post. I smiled, laughing at my computer screen. How can a stranger bring so much joy?

I love you, readers. Yes, you, whoever you are, reading this. I love you.

The fact that you take the time to follow me here at Alive in the Fire really makes my day sometimes :)

Thank you.

Namaste.
