It's the Fear

At some point in life, we choose who we want to be. Some choose by not choosing. Others race ahead and wait to see how things will shake out.

Seth had a really great post yesterday about some of the ways we hold ourselves back.

Sometimes it's fear of judgment from others; sometimes it's lack of knowledge or power.

For me, more often than not, it's the fear.

Buzzing at the edges of my consciousness. Deeper down than thoughts, emotions, sensation.

Tonight on a bike ride, I wondered what it might feel like to let the sun set on my fear. How free could I be without it?

Free as a little bird.

From behind my new sunglasses, I watched the world blaze by, seeing the possibilities.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.
